Though the Torah introduces Noah with just a single sentence—"Noah was a righteous man, blameless in his generation"—his story has inspired centuries of interpretation, debate, and ethical reflection. This course explores the rich world of commentary surrounding Noah, examining how scholars, rabbis, and thinkers have used his story to explore questions of justice, responsibility, leadership, and moral courage. Join us as we uncover how a few biblical verses gave rise to powerful lessons that continue to shape ethical and social thought today.
