Please write your $50 check payable to: SISTERHOOD GHC.
Mail to GHC or place the check (in an envelope) in the aluminum lock box near the Main Office at GHC. You can instead pay by credit card, online by going to the GHC Home page (www.ghcny.org), Donations & Payments, then choose Donations, then Sisterhood Dues.

Events & ACtivities
Brunches and Events
Enjoy knowledgeable, insightful speakers and creative programming in a fun, casual environment. Sisterhood sponsors speakers who are professionals and authors of interest, and offers workshops and hands-on, learning opportunities. Buffet brunch or refreshments are served. Every event is open to everyone and most events are free of charge. Sisterhood also sponsors local outings of interest to everyone! Women-Led Sisterhood Shabbat
Women of GHC lead a Shabbat morning service, held in the Spring, followed by a Festive Kiddush honoring our Woman of the Year. This year Sisterhood Shabbat is June 7, 2025. We will announce the honoree in 2025. All are welcome to attend this special event.
Mah Jongg CARDS
Mah Jongg cards are available from Sisterhood for $14 Regular Print card or $15/Large Print card. GHC benefits with the sale of the cards. Order for yourself and friends. Shalach Manot (Purim Gift Bags)
Everyone enjoys Sisterhood's Purim gift bags! Sisterhood prepares and distributes Purim gift bags to local members of the GHC family. Purim greeting cards are sent to those who live out of town. Click HERE to be a sponsor of the 2024 Shalach Manot program. The 2025 Shalach Manot program will kick off in January 2025.
Embroidered Tallit (Prayer Shawl)
Our skilled volunteers will hand embroider your child’s or grandchild’s name onto a beautiful tallit to be used for the children's blessing at Simchat Torah and other special celebrations.
Shiva Meals
Sisterhood provides a Shiva meal and arranges for its delivery to GHC member families mourning in the local area. If you would like to help deliver meals, please let us know!
Judaica Shop
The Sisterhood Gift Shop carries a full line of beautiful ceremonial and gift items. There are many items in stock and items can also be ordered. Contact: shop@ghcny.org for more info. Shop GHC for all of your Judaic needs!
Cookbook
“Kosher on the Hudson,” a cookbook of more than 300 pages and 450 recipes, is available through the Sisterhood Gift Shop. Please contact: shop@ghcny.org to purchase a copy for $18.
Sanctuary Flowers and Break the Fast
Sisterhood provides beautiful sanctuary flower arrangements for all major holidays & festivals throughout the year. A “Break the Fast” snack is served after Yom Kippur. High Holy Day Greetings are sent to everyone in the GHC Family. What a sweet way to start the New Year!
Bar and Bat Mitzvah Celebrations
Sisterhood honors each Bar and Bat Mitzvah with the presentation of a personally inscribed siddur (prayerbook).
Financial Support for GHC
Sisterhood annually pledges funds to support Greenburgh Hebrew Center. In addition, money is given to support the Religious School, the Early Childhood Center and as the need arises, other special projects. These funds come from the many projects Sisterhood undertakes during the year. Your support is critical to the success of our fundraising!
GHC Campus Connection
Sisterhood generously subsidizes the cost of the holiday packages that are mailed to GHC college and graduate students. Contact Elyse at college@ghcny.org for more information about the college package program.
Torah Fund
The Torah Fund Campaign is Sisterhood’s financial commitment to the Jewish Theological Seminary of America. An artist-designed benefactor’s pin is presented to each woman whose minimum contribution is $180. Sisterhood GHC, along with the other Sisterhoods in our region, honors an outstanding GHC woman each year at the local Torah Fund dinner. Nancy Sklar was our honoree this past year (2024). Women’s League For Conservative Judaism
Sisterhood GHC has been affiliated with Women’s League for Conservative Judaism for over 65 years. Membership in WLCJ is included in Sisterhood dues. Founded in 1918 by Mathilde Schecter as the Jewish Women's League of the United Synagogue of America, WLCJ provides services to affiliated Sisterhoods in Conservative synagogues around the world. The goal of WLCJ is to educate and to perpetuate Judaism in the home, the synagogue and the community. Women's League sponsors fascinating events and online classes that GHCers always enjoy!
