Our Religious school

Greenburgh Hebrew Center Religious School (GHC-RS) is a warm, welcoming, and nurturing educational environment, committed to providing the highest quality of instruction. We strive to foster a love of Judaism, a love of community, and a love of Israel.

Our goals are:

  • To give all students a love of Judaism and of Jewish learning, and pride in their Jewish identity.
  • To inspire confident Jewish living through competency with Hebrew texts, and with Jewish holidays and ritual celebrations.
  • To build connections between our students and the larger GHC congregation, and between the school and the larger Jewish world.
  • To be a joyful place for Jewish children to learn together!

We utilize a combination phonetic/whole word approach to Hebrew learning, and an innovative curriculum to teach Jewish values in a developmentally appropriate manner. In addition, all students, from gan through zayin, participate in special programs throughout the year.
